You go to the Savoy Grille for good food and service. I took my wife and sister there for lunch today , and the service was excellent , which cannot be said for the food. Scallop starter was a poor and the main hotpot was...greasy , bland and tasteless. My wife’s vegetarian dishes were good. Gordon Ramsey needs to get back on the kitchen and get back to basics Very disappointing . Very very poor food. Would make a good episode of Gordon’s Kitchen Nightmares. Staff and manager excellent felt sorry for them as heard others complaining as wellMore

We were treated to a voucher for the sample menu, this is 7 courses and boy what an experience this was and I must say the best way to dine if you are going to do it. From the arrival at the hotel, we were...greeted by friendly staff . We had pre drinks in the main bar, what a View and what an atmosphere and pages of drinks on offer each complimented with some light nibbles. Back to the grill, the staff are super super friendly and very genuine they make you feel so special even if 5* dining is not your usual thing! I had noted a slight dietary requirement of my husbands on booking, which was acknowledged at the table and the chef even made him his own dish for said course. Each course was described in detail, it’s a wonderful experience and one we hope to do again in the futureMore

We went there to celebrate our son’s 18th birthday as a special gift for him. But we’re really disappointed with the kind of service. It took ages for food to come and finally when it came it was not of good standard . Chicken was...dry and lacked taste. In spite of mentioning it was a special 18th no special cake was offered. The kind of food that you expect from a high end restaurant was missing. Not impressed.More

Came here on Christmas eve for dinner with the family. We had a table booked but still had to wait a bit, we were fine with that because we were staying in the hotel. We were seated then greeted by our waiter. He was lovely...and did a great job. I had the filet cooked rare. When it came, I cut open into it and it was medium rare. I was really hungry because of the wait so I ate it anyway. Will not be coming back here to dine, there are much better places close to the hotel.More

We went to the Savoy Grill as a treat for my birthday as part of a three day trip to London. We had requested to be seated on a banquet style seating as we prefer sitting side by side when having a meal, on arrival...were told our table was not quite ready and would be 10 to 15 mins. We had no problem with this and ordered a couple of glasses of Champaign while we waited. We were then shown to our table and had the various menu options explained to us, we chose the 6 course taster menu with iconic matched wines (for the full experience). I will not comment on every course but a couple that stood out were the omelette ‘Arnold Bennett’, which was superb, the steak, was very nice, my wife chose the beef Wellington option, again was very nice. The final course the Rum Baba was restaurant theatre with the flambé of the sauce on a trolley next to our table very satisfying to watch and also very nice to eat. My only criticism is that the cheddar on the cheese course was hard and dry, not nice and tasted as if it had been cut hours before and left to dry out. I did mention this at the time and the staff apologised. This is a minor point but Michelin star restaurants are supposed to make it all perfect. The other point to note is that as we ordered the matched iconic wines and were surprised when the Sommelier turned up with some sort of pump extraction gadget which measured out the exact wine serving. I completely understand the reason for this as these wines are very expensive but it did take something away from the experience of when your wine waiter pours your wine straight out of the bottle. It’s a pity they do not offer a cheaper matched wine option with traditional wine pouring Overall a really nice meal and lovely night out but we have had better.More
