As with all “Romantic Escape Themed Resorts” this one isn’t. In fairness it doesn’t claim to be “Adults Only” but all of its marketing screams (not suitable for children) As with most private romantic getaways this place doesn’t offer privacy. Principally, because it allows kids and let’s face it, what a passion killer. Secondly the private areas are not signed or marked as such so if the other guests have a profound sense of entitlement mixed with a lack of common sense (and ours did) they will just boldly walk into your private property while you are trying to enjoy alone time. Dead set! It was just unbelievable. When we told the staff they were stunned at the stupidity. We’ve seen the type before so we were barely surprised. That said, it’s a beautiful property. The food is excellent and the service is attentive, professional and accommodating. We booked a “Private Lodge.” You don’t get privacy. The staff are very respectful but the other guests are free to intrude and they do. Save your money and stay in the main lodge. The day spa is lovely and the masseuse is brilliant but give it a miss. You can’t relax. It is right next to the tennis court which is the only activity available for kids. So a $300 massage is pretty quickly ruined by inconsiderate parents who abandon their kids to the tennis court to scream, yell, compete and fight. The most compelling proof of how unsuitable the resort is for children was demonstrated when a departing helicopter pilot had to shut off his engine and get out of the chopper to shoo unsupervised children away from the Rotar Zone while Mum just sat on her balcony and watched?? The place has lots of potential. The staff are great. Shout out to Teagan,Bianca, Melissa and Sam. Make its Adults only Make the private lodges Private. I see a lot of people on here whining about the price. The current price point is a bit cheeky given the issues I’ve identified. Make it Adults only and make the private areas private and I’ll pay 50% extra.…
Spent a couple of days hiking and resting. Rooms were comfortable and cosy. Restaurant was first rate and able to deal very effectively with my dietary requirements. Staff friendly, helpful and super professional. But the highlight was the location. Very isolated, at the end of a narrow 12 k mountain trail. Spectacular views - particularly at sunset. Was sad to leave ..
My wife and I spent a night here this week and enjoyed every moment. Superb staff, amazing venue, beautiful views, wonderful restaurant (which catered to our dietary requirements perfectly), absolute bliss.
We enjoyed our stay. The staff were amazing and could not be faulted. The room and the grounds were spotless. We enjoyed our walk around the plateau with our guide Melissa who was a fountain on knowledge. Our only disappointment was the dinner menu which gave us no choice as to what we could eat.
We went to Spicers to celebrate our daughters 25th birthday. From the moment we arrived till the time we had to say goodbye, the staff looked after us. The facilities are fantastic, the view spectacular, the food Delicious and we will be back again for sure
