Rome Shopping Guide

Shopping in Rome is practically a sport, and the Eternal City offers visitors an exciting arena to flex their credit cards. Everything from high-fashion boutiques and well-known chains to family-run stores and souvenir stalls are nestled among the Italian capital’s awe-inspiring ruins, making the quest for that perfect keepsake to take home the highlight of any visit.

Via del Corso

We were treated to a truffle hunt and luncheon, a goat farm with a large variety of cheeses, a shopping opportunity for ceramics, several cooking demos and the fine hospitality of Elizabeth and her family.
That was immediately evident by the level of access we received on our trip—from the truffle hunting and visit to the olive grove, to the winery trip and tasting.

Our two families sampled many ice creams during our stay in Rome and this was our favorite - great gelato and really great friendly service.
Although some larger shops may offer more selection, there are still about 20 varieties here (!!) and we prefer the flavor and texture of thlis gelato far more than all others.

Mercato has amazing shops for buying fruits, vegetables, cheese, bread, etc...We found the most amazing pizza seller, it was fantastic with different combinations of toppings.
Testaccio is a bit off the beaten path for most tourists, so the neighborhood is pleasant and has maybe more of a local feel than some other parts of central Rome.
