Camped over at Ned Gully's campsite and had the best time under the milky way. 'Firepits' were provided for fires and a basic toilet shed + rainwater to wash the nasties off were a nice touch. Hiked the Cathedral Peak trail which usually takes 4.5 hours return. It was quite a climb up but the views are breathtaking! Definitely worth a visit. Tried to spot some wombats but only saw wallabies. Good enough though!

The Cathedral Range State Park is spectacular. Wonderful scenery and a new sight to see around every corner. Family from the UK loved seeing this hidden part of Victoria. My only comment is that the maps within the park are terrible and not at all helpful. Would love to visit again.

Love this place, been coming here since a kid and now bring our own. We stay at Cooks Mill camp ground as the sites are good with a set fire place. This area is central to all walks and hike which is great. We completed the 6hr round hike up the saddle, north along the ridge and down to Neds Gully and return upstream to our camp. It was a huge hike but very satisfying. Highly recommend this spot to serious walkers as the views from the ridge are priceless. Pays to book online prior to guarantee a spot.

We arrived about 10 years too late, as our hard hiking days are over. Cooks Mill campsite has plenty of sites with concrete fire rings and site furniture. It can be a challenge to find an even site that isn't flooding in the rain, but we managed. The resident male satin bower bird and his more modest but equally lovely mate were a joy to watch as they made their rounds. We set up mid week and left on Saturday morning, just as the weekend horde were settling in. If it's peaceful isolation you're looking for, this isn't it. You will have neighbours, one or two will need to be told to can the loud music, and you are under a quite busy flight path where the planes have already started their descent into Melbourne. Vic Parks, Please fix the disabled toilet seat, it is distorted and making the long drop toilets breathe and stink. BTW, about time you pumped the loos out. Addressing the issue of trail bike riders on the walking trails might be a good idea too.

Great place to spend a few days. Plenty of different hikes varying in difficulty with some extremely rewarding views at the end of them.
