I have done a few walks in the Daintree, but this was truly exceptional. Neil's knowledge of, and passion for, the world heritage rainforest in which he and his family live knows no bounds. It was truly an opportunity to view this ancient and irreplaceable forest through different eyes. Thanks so much for sharing it with us, Neil.

We went from cane fields to wet tropical rainforest in minutes. The roads are sealed as far as Cape Trib, then the ongoing dirt road is currently blocked as a COVID precaution. There are a few small "eco-lodges" and I recommend that you stay a while, not just drive through. The forest dwellers are resourceful and interesting to chat with and the bushland is lush and dense.

The experience was captivating. It was a privilege to have Neil as our guide, his knowledge, love and passion for the rainforest was amazing. We were also honoured with meeting Prue and Angela. I must add we were greeted with a cassowary as soon as we began the trek. On top of all the awesomeness it also rained in little bouts which just heightened the overall experience. We also added the cruise, the guide was a complete joy, entertaining and absolutely lovely. Coopers creek was breathtaking, a completely natural habitat with mountains, mangroves, the beach behind you and of course surrounded by crocodiles.

This is the oldest sub-tropical rain forest in the world three times older than the Amazon. Our guide, Daniel, was excellent. Lunch consisted of steaks cooked to order, fish, assorted cut fruit, orange kool-aid or water, and a noodle salad, cabbage salad, and cole slaw. During the boat ride, we saw a total of one croc, two orioles flying, and one night-time bird resting.
