Our usual girls walking group just completed the Spicers Scenic Rim 4 day walk and it absolutely exceeded all expectations. The scenery was magnificent and we did not expect a stunning Gondwana rainforest on our doorstep an hour from Brisbane, The accomodations were incredibly luxe and unique especially the ecocabins in the wilderness and the food was fantastic. The staff are incredible. Our 2 guides Juanita and Ellie were extremely knowledgeable and we learned more about the land, the history and botany/wildlife than on any previous walks in Australia or NZ. They even had us birdwatching which for a group of chatty girls is quite an achievement, but their passion and enthusiasm was contagious. John and Gillian were charming hosts at each camp and looked after us brilliantly. I can'y speak highly enough of the walk and would recommend it to everyone.

Friendly, helpful and fun guides led us on over 4 days of the scenic rim trail, main range national park. The area walked is at the northern end of the world heritage listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Each days hike covers interesting terrain, unique in its own way, expertly explained by the knowledgeable guides. To summarise the trek in two words I would say rewarding and arduous - physically and mentally. The accomodation each evening was first class with what appeared to be minimal or nil environmental impact. The hosts were very obliging and knowledgeable also. Food was well considered to suit all tastes. Everyone appeared to be very happy with the selections. Spicers guides were very protective of the area, explaining the biodiversity beautifully. They had a deep understanding of the geology and fauna and flora. Explanations about the bird life and bird callS were a particular highlight. is a shame that other walking groups appeared to not be so protective of the values demonstrated by Spicers, such as protecting the undergrowth, removing waste, and generally minimising their impact on this amazing area. The group with which we participated ranged in age from 30s to retirees. Would highly recommend. Well done to all of the Spicers office staff and field staff that we had the pleasure to meet. The first day included a Koala walk and short tour of the The Hidden Vale Wildlife Centre, which was explained as a partnership between the University of Queensland and The Turner Family Foundation. We loved this, along with a really interesting tour of the Hidden Vale market garden - including the smokehouse & fermentation room. The Chef who took in on this journey, like all of the other staff, did an amazing job, like all of the Spicers staff, his passion for what he does really shine thru. Can’t wait to do another walk with Spicers. Thank you Juanita, Jack, Kirra, Vicki, Chantelle, Paul, Chris, and Mark.

Only just over an hour from Brisbane , the 2 day hike tests even the more experienced walker . Expertly guided by informed and fun guides , you get to explore different flora and fauna , while enjoying sensational views . After 8 hours we arrived back to the camp site which is what glamping is all about , and then did another even more demanding hike the next day . Great setting , attentive staff, fine good and luxurious accommodation . Even has a communal hot tub .

We loved this trip. Beautiful scenery, guided and informative bush walking, night time fire pit and star gazing, lots of outdoor activities to choose from AND luxurious canopy tents, massages and delicious food that never ends! Chantelle, Paul and the other staff were delightful. Seriously, Spicers have thought about every tiny detail here, we can’t wait to return and explore some more.

Awesome! We went early April for the 2 day/night trail when it was just starting to get cool enough to sit by open fires at night. Great experience and staff - Thank you so much to Carmen for guiding us and your sense of humour ;-) to Canopy Chris for welcoming us in each day and making us laugh, to Andy for delicious meals and Emma for keeping us on track... and all of the other crew that make this such a luxury experience.
