Narlijia Tours are every bit as good as the promotional information we saw when 94.5s Breakfast Bunch visited earlier this year. Bart is a very knowledgeable and friendly young man who is really passionate about sharing his knowledge and culture. The day we went on the walking tour Bart was ably assisted by his cousin Eric. They guided and assisted all members thru the slog of the mangroves and mud to Buccaneer Rock all the while pointing out where stingrays had fed on the previous tide and to the secret pool before gathering a shellfish feast. So much information shared! Thank you Bart and Eric (and Breakfast Bunch)!

Unfortunately, we were unable to go on Bart's Beach to Bay Sunset tour after I asked Bart if I could complete the walk with a lung condition. Bart sent a photograph of the walk across mudflats and was very helpful. When I realised that I was unable, he promptly refunded us in full with a kind and caring reply. We were disappointed that we couldn't go as Bart was so helpful. I wanted to tell this story as it is important for travellers to know that they are dealing with an honourable man and company.

Meeting Bart was a highlight of our trip to Broome. He was open, caring and shared his knowledge of the mangroves and aboriginal culture generously with a sense of humour. Eating the bush tucker was a little bit scary but a great experience. We learnt so much and would love to do another tour with Bart when we’re next in Broome.

Narlijia Tours are fabulous! We were fortunate to join Bart on his Life of Guwan walking tour. What an inspiring young man! His passion and dedication showed through in his efforts to tell the full story, combining his Aboriginal and multicultural heritage with a curator’s perspective to entertain and educate us. He provided a wonderful insight into lives and heritage of the coastal peoples with fascinating stories of their ‘life of plenty’ supported by the mangrove forests, mudflats (jabalbal), and pristine waters of Roebuck Bay. The shell midden (Kennedy Hill), with evidence of many thousands of years of cooking and eating helped us to picture their lives looking out over Dampier Creek with fresh-water and bush tucker aplenty. Stepping forward in time to the Pearling days which are also part of Bart’s heritage, we took the history, and witnessed the harvesting of a pearl. We enjoyed the opportunity to sample the pearl meat, although I confess that I preferred the bush tucker. This is an authentic Broome experience, not to be missed. My tip is to book early as we would have done at least one more of Bart’s tours, but they were already booked out!
