We were privileged to be guided by Dan and Uluru Man Sammy into restricted lands, learning a lot about the culture of the local Mob and their incredible ability to survive in the central Australian environment. We saw quite a few tracks but didn't glimpse any animals. Enjoyed the sunset with a view of both Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Interesting to see how much the land changes as you travel around. Great day, highly recommend it. Looking forward to getting the book. Thanks so much to Karyn who did so much to ensure we had this opportunity.

Very informative, done at a comfortable pace, with plenty of photo opportunities. Dan was our guide, he was very friendly & was a wealth of knowledge on the history of the local people. September is a good time as it is cool as you set off but quickly warms up once the sun appears above the horizon (it reached 36 degrees Celsius by midday). I think it would be quite an uncomfortable walk during summer, particularly for older folk. If you make it out to Uluru put this one on your list though. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had 2 tours booked through SEIT....the base walk of Uluru and the sunrise tour of Kata Tjuta ....both of which were guided by their representative, Dan! We thoroughly enjoyed both tours....Dan is very knowledgable on local history, geology and botany as well as the stories of the indigenous people and imparted what he knew with an enthusiasm that was infectious. He was also very sensitive to everyone’s needs and was diligent in making sure all in the group were happy. Being a small guided tour was a real advantage and allowed time for individual questions and frequent asides which added to the fun of the tour. As a company SEIT was for us....punctual, efficient and well organised. Breakfast on each occasion was well thought out and much appreciated! Would highly recommend .....

We undertook The Highlights of Uluru Sunrise/Breakfast Tour and also the Afternoon Kata Tjuta Domes Tour with our wonderful Guide Daniel. We were impressed with his knowledge and communication skills, his professional, courteous and caring manner, his ability to cater to and manage a wide diversity of age groups, appropriately and empathetically answering questions from young school-age children through to senior citizens. He has an obvious passion and enthusiasm for his work, the Uluru/Kata Tjuta National Park, the welfare and advancement of the Anungu Traditional Owners and in the sharing of many stories which brought to life their close connection with country from The Dreaming through to the present. Thank You!

I hate giving bad reviews. I love exploring the world and the folks that agree to be guides are to be respected for their commitment to educating the rest of us. Unfortunately in this instance I felt like I could have learned more but reading a book because our guide pretty much recited the facts as if we was reading a book. Our guide looked the part. Kind of a Crocodile Dundee with a broad rimmed hat, scuffed up boots and a casual demeanor. But after picking up our group of five plus a father and daughter from Ohio, we set off for a sunrise breakfast in a dirt lot off the main road. Along the way this young man mentioned that he was originally from Melbourne. He was a plumber by trade but had come to Yulara on the advice of a friend and decided to stay where he found this job as a guide. Not the best bio for an expert on indigenous people. As we stood in the early morning light he made a pot of coffee, set out banana bread, yogurt and muesli, and called that breakfast. Before we could attempt to enjoy these meager offerings the flies had descended. Speaking only for myself, I threw out my coffee to avoid inviting flies into my hair net and had one nibble of banana bread before calling it a day. At this point our guide was pretty much reciting the script he had been taught. We would travel over to Ulurua, visit the water hole, see the rock etchings, and hear the history of this place. It just didn't seem particularly authentic. The concept was great. The execution was poor. Perhaps another tour guide who had a better connection to the area would have been better. I vacillated between rating this "poor" or "average" and decided to go with average just because the guy was trying to be good. Next time skip the whole "I used to be a plumber" conversation.
