The museum keeps its promise. Even though the famous Mona Lisa painting was much smaller than expected. All in all it is not only for art lovers worth a visit!

During this worldwide Covid outbreak visitors to Paris are greatly reduced and the Louvre is the quietest I have seen it in 41 years. That said it is still the Louvre. Be prepared for no Rembrandt or Vermeer as the second floor remains closed. That means you have time for other highlights. Imagine being in the room alone with the Venus de Milo. Yes that is really happening. As always with this great museum, if you can go, do go - many times.

First I must admit I am not an artlover and do not know much about it. But this place left me speechless . There are three flours and our guide told us you need at least two weeks to see everything. It was not crowded because of COVID so you could enjoy in peace. Such a magnificent pieces of art and history. You can take photos of Mona Lisa and almost everything. There is bar inside, toilletes and a lot of places to rest. You must visit.

The art in the Louvre is some of the best in the world. This is known and there is no need to talk about it. Instead I’ll focus ion the poor layout of the museum. The horseshoe shape makes it extraordinarily difficult to move between wings. We did a lot of back tracking. Also the wings don’t connect on every level. Lots of stair climbing. The majority of reviews say you can’t see it all in one visit. I’ll go further and say it’s difficult to see just the most popular exhibits in one visit before of the terrible design. Directions are spotty, it’s labeled poorly even in French. You’ll get no help in other languages. When we finally found the Egyptian section, there was an emergency evacuation. However, after climbing a couple flights of stairs to get out we learned it was just a drill. Loved the art. The art is great. But I left never wanting to set foot inside again. Even leaving was difficult as they funnel you past gift shops, then an underground shopping center. It ruined all the joy of seeing great art. And we went during COVID times when there were no crowds, no tour buses. We walked directly up to the Mona Lisa and had it to ourselves for a solid 5 minutes. It’s a great time to go if you can but it’s frustrating even without the crowds.
