I was really impressed after my first visit to the National Gallery of Ireland. I went there just for a quick walk and end up spending a few hours walking around checking the beautiful rooms and amazing paints they have over there, it was a great afternoon. It is definitilly worth checking if you are ever around.

Had a great visit. Not very crowded. Saw some paintings by a favourite Irish artist, Paul Henry, and puchased some greeting cards with his paintings at the shop. Want to give a special shout out to Mick from maintenance and Rachel and Ian from security. My key broke off my bike lock when I was leaving. They came to my rescue and cut the bike lock cable so I could be on my way. The world is full of good people!

Hard to believe entry to the gallery is free! I've been to lesser galleries in Europe and paid close to €20 for entry. Well worth a visit if in Dublin. The portrait gallery is fab. Also worth visiting a few minutes walk away is the Natural History Museum (also free!).Both collections are fantastic.
