1,216 reviews
Immerse yourself in Victorian London on this one-of-a-kind Jack the Ripper experience featuring RIPPER-VISION.? Unlike other tours, your guide uses handheld projectors to accompany spine-chilling tales of the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the 1800s. As you explore the dimly lit back streets of Whitechapel, images of Victorian London are projected onto buildings to guarantee a highly atmospheric experience. Plus, an evening departure time means you’ll experience London at its most mysterious. ?

This church is on the site of one of the oldest places of Christian worship . The surrounding grounds harbour the graves and memorials of many very notable people . Among them is the mausoleum for Sir John Soane and his wife - designed by Sir John - which provided the outline template shape for Gilbert Scott's design of the famous red GPO telephone boxes . These grounds also were the backdrop for the famous photoshoot of the Beatles day in London - taken just shortly before the group broke up . Contact with the church ( a very good website ) will provide an excellent guide to the history of the church and the surrounding graves .

Visited this lovely church as a Beatles fan. This is where the photo in the red & blue albums was taken with the crowd. Also the bench where all the Beatles are pictured with the old man reading the newspaper. 10 minute walk from Euston Road.

When we learned of the Hardy Tree's existence we just had to find it and we did. The bonus was discovering this lovely little church just up the road away from the hustle and bustle of St. Pancras train station. The Hardy Tree is well worth a look. The tree has indeed grown around all the gravestones and although fenced off there is ample opportunity for some great photographs. The little church is a work in progress and volunteers help maintain its pristine look. It's quite sparse inside with no great trappings of visible wealth but the simplistic decor only adds to the tranquil ambience and it was nice just to relax there for a short time. Well worth a visit and The Hardy Tree is the icing on the the cake. Another box ticked.

One of the oldest churches in the UK. Cementary contains a tree surrounded by tombstones. The writer Thomas Hardy was previously an architect before becoming a writer. He was in charge of excavating the old cementary to give way to the railroad...
