A trip to London wouldn’t be the same without a visit here. We have been in to the museum many times before (make sure you book online now before visiting. It’s free) This time we went to look at the gardens, view and to enjoy an ice cream. It was a beautiful day and the view of the London skyline as you look down on it is amazing. Gardens lovely as ever. Look for the archway made of growing gourds and the pumpkin patch. A refreshing place to visit away from city life.

Went there because of the VisitLondon website. But they failed to mention that although the museum is free you have to book in advance. So spent an hour travelling down from Hackney, and then was told it was sold out, and that I'd have to just turn around and spend another hour travelling home :( Frustrated, disappointed and day ruined :(

Had problems getting a slot via web. Decided to turn up on 1st opening slot, Staff very helpfull and organised me a slot within the next hour, luckily a few slot left. The museum is an individuals collection from their travels. Many interesting exhibits and plenty to see. 1 to 1.5hrs is enough to explore. Unfortunately butterfly house not open but video of that area is projected. The gardens are lovely and well laid out, lots of well spaced seating and shady area, this alone is worth a visit. Ideal picnic A cafe is available on site as well as the obligatory gift shop on exit of the museum

We visited hornimans museum for the first time - WOW it was amazing there is so much to do and see my grandson said museum are boring! But when we got there he changed his mind. We first visited the butterfly house ken was amazing lots of facts and talked to my grandson about the cycle of butterflies. He showed himthe eggs then the different stages of Caterpillars. It's a cheap day out and educational too. We will go back again soon and take his friend. All the staff were lovely chatting to us telling us about the different items. We went to see the dinosaurs and the aquarium which was great. Thanks horimon
