Seeing Brixton with Sean-Taylor from City Unscripted was the highlight of my stay. He brought the whole place to life- on the face of it, you could just think it was just another slightly run-down suburb of London. With ST you could taste the history and culture of the place from its roots in multiculturalism to the music scene to the most amazing food. Love the place and the people.

We visited the Brixton area and really enjoyed our visit. This urban area of London has a lot of culture with restaurants, shops and murals. It is popular amongst young and older adults. We went on a Sunday evening in November and it was busy.

Stayed a weekend here and it was really vibrant and busy. Lots to see and do and stress free. Check out Brockwell Park - just lovely and the underground provides a night service to the city centre at the weekend - access and travel is really easy. Highly recommended part of town.

I'm often in Brixton for dance events {Ballroom & Latin Tea Dances at the Town Hall and Argentine Tangoing at The Market House} and to The Ritzy for preview film screenings yet I've never written about it before. Brixton hasa thriving High Street, with Brixton market full of traditional stalls and outlets, eateries pubs and venues plus Electric Avenue made famous by 980's singer Eddie Grant. I like the underground station which is really spacious and well designed with lifts and wide multiple stairs and even the flower pots in the Supervisors office welcoming you to Brixton . . that's how warm and friendly it is. On the Victoria line, the last stop from Walthamstow, Brixton is well worth a visit whether you're a tourist or a Brit, you'll always be made welcome in Brixton.

I live in a small town in the Midlands and the first time I visited Brixton Market I was amazed to see so many fruits and vegetables I had never seen before. I found brilliant craft shops and stalls selling bright, colourful clothes from great places. I also love the local shops in Brixton that sell a much greater range of foods than I see even in supermarkets in the town where I live. Brixton is buzzing with culture and great music on the streets.
