Beware – if you want to stay at Cedar Creek Lodges – book ahead. However, when you do get here you will be pleased with the experience. I wanted a special and different 2 nights away with my girlfriend and if this is what you are looking for, this is your place. We stayed in one of their spa rooms and the spa is ginormous and the room is also fitted out with a bar fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Ok, you can tell it used to be a motel, but so what. It has a comfortable king size bed and the furnishings seemed ok to me and my girlfriend actually said how much she liked the ‘ambience’. The views are fabulous and we sat out on the lawn and drank some local wine and even talked to some other couples as well. We had booked for a horse trail ride which we enjoyed, once we finally got hold of the operator. From what I understand, the activities within Thunderbird Park are separately owned, but the receptionist Zoe at the lodges is fabulous and makes sure you get into everything you want. We also did the zip line – wow, this was unbelievable. My girlfriend also fitted in a massage in our room after all of the exercise. Ate in their restaurant, played the putt putt, walked to the Cedar Falls, watched the 2pm bird feeding and probably had a few too many of their cocktails, but for a good reason, the waiter Levie knows how to make awesome cocktails.

My partner and I had a great couple of days here. We had been here before as day visitors doing the tree challenge so we knew it was a gorgeous place. We stayed in a Creek Lodge with breakfast included, which we really enjoyed as well. We live in a high rise Brisbane apartment and it was just what we needed to get out and enjoy what the country has on offer. We’re both working from home right now and decided that it would be a great idea to work in such beautiful surroundings. We also thought we even worked more efficiently and effectively. The birds were singing the whole time and the creek was flowing right outside our lodge – much better than what we are used to as the support act! There is a wood fire which we lit at night. We would highly recommend Cedar Creek Lodges for a recharge.

Thank you for your feedback, Craig. It's been interesting talking with some of our guests and what you and your partner did has been a popular choice with others as well. Thank you for choosing us as your rural workplace and we are always here when another recharge is needed!

The high ropes course was brilliant- definitely our favourite part. We stayed in a Cedar Creek chalet and it was lovely. There was lots to do at the park. I’d recommend for families with younger and older kids
