We had a very relaxing end to our short trip to Tokyo by refreshing ourselves at the Onsen. The waters - from the high carbonation pool to the hot baths to the bubbling pool and even the cold pool. It took a while to know exactly how to respectfully do everything but once I knew I didn't want to leave. Such a great and healing cultural tradition.

Let me tell you how to get there from Haneda. Forget Google maps, you will end up in the middle of nowhere. Get the Keikyu Line train to Heiwajima Station. Turn left when you exit the station (you will see a freeway above you). A few more steps will take you to the shuttle bus, which will drop you right outside the onsen. The bus has 'Big Fun Heiwajima' in English on its display above the door. When you arrive, there are escalators a few metres from the bus stop which will take you directly to the entrance. When you check out of the onsen, be sure and ask for a free shuttle bus ticket back to Heiwajima station. There is plenty of information about the amenities, so I don't need to go into detail. I will say that it very Japanese, and the hot springs are many and varied. You will quickly feel very comfortable. I would allow 2-3 hours there: an hour for the hot springs, and another couple of hours for eating, reading and relaxing. I went to sleep for an hour! I guess you could explore 'Big Fun' later if you have the energy. .

Tried the Flight package as mine was leaving at 2am. Entrance including shuttle bus to airport was 2400 Yen. Good facilities & amenities. Restaurant quite okay too (you pay extra for food/drinks). Much better than hanging around airport for sure.
